From Caliope: Guild Representative for the Parties Aligned Under a Most Curious Patron

Ohhh hey! You made it! Or… maybe you're about to. Time’s weird.

Look, I don’t remember everything about who I am or what I’ve done—and that’s not just me being mysterious. But this isn’t about me. This is about you. And the three parties you’re stuck here with.

By now you’ve likely been shuffled into the Forest Inn, taken a snack from the buffet that shouldn’t exist in this dimension, and maybe even peeked through Mannanan’s Door. That’s your entry point to every mission. It’s also your return ticket—once your task is complete, return the way you came in. The door listens.

Right now, you’ve got three different jobs to divvy up. One task per party. You can talk it out. Or argue it out. Or gamble, lie, seduce, arm-wrestle, or offer up something shiny to me—I’m not saying I accept bribes, but if you’re handing out magical rings and heartfelt compliments, I’m not not listening.

Oh, and a quick note—if you find anything permanent and magical during your task, report it to me. Don’t worry, you get to keep it. The Guild just likes to know who’s holding what. So do I.

Mission One
An ancient floating structure has been spotted drifting over the highlands, marked with unfamiliar runes and lost symbols. Its origin is unknown, but it appears tied to elemental forces—the purpose of which is not yet clear. You are being asked to investigate. Enter, navigate its challenges, and uncover what knowledge or insight it may hold. Once your task is complete, return to the location where you arrived to be guided back through Mannanan’s Door to the Forest Inn.

Mission Two
At the Forest Inn, access has been granted through Mannanan’s Door to a realm unlike any you've seen. Upon arrival, you are enlisted by a diviner consumed with prophecy and puzzles. A critical piece of his magical puzzle has been stolen by a group known only as The Boardwalk. Without it, a dangerous prophecy may be set into motion. Your task is to infiltrate a mysterious gambling house known as The Gilded Die, where fortunes are won and lost at steep personal cost.

Complete your objective and return to the location where you first arrived. Mannanan’s Door will guide you back to the Forest Inn.

Mission Three
A previous crew attempted a high-stakes heist at a fortified vault but brought back the wrong item—nearly identical to the real target, but dangerously incorrect. Your task is to retrace their path, infiltrate the location again (which has now doubled its security), and recover the true artifact. You’ll be given what little intelligence remains from the original mission. Expect increased resistance and minimal margin for error. Extract the correct object and return through the same passage before it closes.

Final Note
You must choose which mission your party will take by the end of the current moon cycle—that’s the last day of this month, in case the stars are spinning faster than your sense of time. If no decision is reached by then, I’ll assign them myself… and you’ll be stuck with whatever I find most entertaining. So deliberate, debate, or duel it out with the other parties—just don’t dawdle.
